This picture was taken in Michigan, after the noise-cancelling earmuffs we ordered arrived. These came in handy quite a bit while seeing KOOZA. Well, until she could take them off herself. Sophie was maybe 8 weeks old here.

Ballet Class with Miss Michelle
This city, one of the moms (Olga, Iris' mom, from the Disney On Ice pics) contacted a local English dance school about doing a private class just for the KOOZA kids, ages ranging from 2-5. They agreed and it has been a spectacular experience for the girls (and us the parents!). We are allowed to stay and watch (like when Jim's parents visited and took pictures) or we can go and have a coffee at a quaint little cafe right outside. I just have to say, the teacher Michelle is AMAZING! She always had something for the girls to do, always strengthening their skills, never missing a minute. She started with stretches and warmups, and ended with reading a story and stickers. Sometimes the girls would not be in the mood, but she dealt with it with patience and understanding. Personally, I was impressed how focused on her Sophie was, when she could have focused on her friends. She always listened and made adjustments to her form. My favorite is "happy toes" when they point their toes. Sophie's favorite parts were the "snake part" when they pushed themselves across the room with their arms, and the "princess part" when they sat in a circle with their hands under their chins. Oh, and the scarf part. Miss Michelle gave the girls scarves (always pink!) and they dance around until the music stops, and they have to stop. So adorable! These pictures here aren't in any particular order and were taken by myself and Grandpa Lutz. (PS All the mommies gave me permission to post. For larger pictures, just click on it.) Our last class is next week but I think I'm going to kidnap her and just make her stay with us!

Disney on Ice
About a month ago, we were given tickets to Disney On Ice: Passport to Adventure. We ended up going with another little girl and her mommy, Iris
and Olga. Sophie, of course, insisted on wearing her princess dress and tiara. It was a treat, even though it was all in Spanish. But, the
girls got cotton candy and a cute little flower hat, so there wasn't
much complaining!
Sophie loved The Little Mermaid feature, since she was
the only princess who had an act in the show. It just so happened that a friend of
mine from KOOZA has a friend on that show, and she hooked it up so that
Sophie and Iris could be in the submarine ON STAGE during the "Under The
Sea" song. The girls were ecstatic! They could not stop smiling and waving like princesses! If you click on the pictures, you can see them larger. Sophie even still talks about it!
Afterwards, we went backstage and the girls got to meet Ariel! Sophie colored a picture and gave it to her. You can see it in her right hand. So sweet! And before we left, Sophie had to have ONE MORE hug!

throwback thursday
Here is Sophie at 5-8 weeks old, living in Atlanta. That night we went to Cirque's kitchen to watch the Detroit Red Wings. I still have this outfit in storage. I couldn't bear to give it away. Looking at it now, I can't believe it ever fit her, she's so tiny. Let's Go Red Wings!

This video was taken when Sophie was around 8 weeks old. I love her
reaction when I speak French to her. I'm so thankful Jim was recording
this.
