Flasback Friday

So today we're going to try something new. Flashback Friday is an idea I had (or stole, depending on who you talk to...) to highlight older pictures or movies that have not been posted here before. The first FF was taken in Arlington, Virginia, right after she was born, probably between 1 and 2 weeks old. This picture is one of my favorites that I had to share. She is so peaceful and perfect.

We've moved to Denver!

First off, I would like to apologize for the lack of posting new blogs. We have been super busy the last few weeks, and to top it off I lost almost everything from when my hard drive decided it didn't like me. On a much happier note, the last week in St. Paul, Wentworths and Pierces came to visit. We had so much fun! Sophie went to the beach for the first time, and had a lot of fun! We also visited Minnehaha Falls and took lots of pictures.

While they visited, Jim and I celebrated three years of marriage. They took Sophie for a few hours while we went out to dinner. I think we lasted about 45 minutes before we talked about Sophie. :] I think that's our record! It's hard to believe we've been together for 11 years!!!

Two weeks ago we drove from St. Paul to Denver. We took our time and it was really nice to relax. Before leaving St. Paul, we visited the Children's Museum and the Science Museum, and other places we didn't get around to while we were there. We snapped a few pics at a Subway where we stopped for lunch. Sophie has shown an interest in holding her own bottle. Please plug your ears while I scream for joy. Actually, she is having solids twice daily, sometimes three times. She almost prefers it to the bottle. I know I do! Here's a funny video of her lunging for her bottle.

"Do you know how fast you were going, Ma'am?"

When arriving in Denver, we visited the Denver Aquarium and a rescued animal sanctuary (http://wildlife-conservation.com/) where they rescue abandoned or abused large animals, like tigers (one named Sophie), lions, bears and panthers. They were quite beautiful. They had an observation deck above all the animals so we could watch them in as close to their wild habitat as possible. We heard a lion roar in the distance and it was jarring. Once the workweek started, Sophie saw dress rehearsal for the first time. She made it almost to the end before falling asleep. Here's a pic with daddy. Her shirt says "I'm with the band." :]

And just so you know that I am really sorry, here is a video that Jim took a few days ago of Soph squealing and being cute. This should make up for my lack of posting, and then some. She's SO smiley and happy. Her two bottom teeth are finally through and she is back to her wonderful and bubbly and perfect self. I think we'll keep her. Well, until the next teeth decide to come, then we may have to have an auction.

And we have liftoff!

For the past five (5!) months, Sophie has been reduced to a drooly, slobbery (albeit smiling, laughing and beautiful) mess of a girl. Now it has become apparent and the reason for all her discomfort has been revealed. Yesterday morning, we found them. Two buds, bottom center. You can barely see them in the last picture. It was quite an ordeal to get a picture (not a good picture, a picture) - she refused to let me put my finger in her mouth without chewing on it. Let the fun begin!
