Eating dessert first makes for a great day!

Sophie, Daddy and I decided to do some exploring, since our time here is winding down. We walked south from our place away from site today along the East River and saw many interesting things. We walked past a little park with a rink for street hockey, where Sophie tried out the swing for the first time:

Then we walked past a little dog park and saw some cute dachshunds, and a teeny female wire-haired puppy licked our hands. Then we tried Pinkberry for the first time. I had original flavor with blueberries and strawberries, and Jim had pomegranate with blueberries and mini chocolate chips. It was very, very good! There were a bunch of kids speaking French. It was turning out to be a very good day! Sophie liked it so much she decided to take a nap:

On our way home, we ate lunch at a cute diner called "Big Daddy's" (http://www.bigdaddysnyc.com/) and it had too many yummy things to choose from. I tried to play it safe (since I've lost 13 pounds so far!) and had half of a hamburger, a few DELISH tater tots, and a diet coke. At the table next to us, there was a couple speaking French. It was a very good day! After that, we went to a German store to look for something for Jim's dad for Father's Day and came home to feed Sophie. Jim had to leave for work, so Sophie and I walked with him to the pedestrian bridge and then turned around and went back to the dog run, where we got to meet a basset hound puppy named Roscoe. He was very sweet and really liked Sophie! Now we have the unfortunate task of packing up and leaving NYC! I don't want to leave but we're looking forward to spending some time with our families.
